On Valentine’s Day, Saturn will leave Pisces and join Neptune in Aries, symbolically indicating the passing of the Age of Pisces and the beginning of a new cycle, something we’ve been discussing in detail now for over a year. While Saturn and Neptune both shifted from Pisces into Aries in 2025, they then retrograded back into that old age, even as much of humanity is trying to do: hang on to the old and resist the new. When these two planets finally shift for good this month, they will truly herald the turning of the new wheel, a new cycle of human development, emphasized when Pluto – planetary ruler of Pisces – clinched the Age of Aquarius by moving into that sign in the last few months.

The last exact conjunction of Saturn and Neptune occurred from March to November of 1989 in 11 degrees of Capricorn, so this is a rare relationship. At that time there were many instances of poisoned water and contaminated food, as well as a growing recognition of the damage we were inflicting on the planet, which was a positive outcome. This conjunction will take place in 0 degrees Aries. This is significant for two reasons. We discussed the significance of 0 degrees several months ago as several of our outer planets were shifting signs into 0 degrees of their next sign. Starting over in Aries which is literally the starting point of the entire zodiac, of our entire year with the Spring Equinox, is a very big deal, increasing the idea of a bridge into the new age.

Conjunctions – when two planets occupy virtually the same space AS SEEN FROM EARTH – mean that their energies, characteristics can merge, but also that it’s hard to separate their characteristics; they’re so close! From Valentine’s Day through the following week they will be in 0 degrees exact to the minute by the 20^th. This brings together two very different “teachers” as we like to call the planets in astrology classes. Saturn is the strict, cautious disciplinarian, the hard worker, the one who recognizes the heavy burdens of life and long-term karma, while Neptune is dreamy, nebulous and uncertain about the “realities” of this life, often falling victim to the illusions, which begs the question, what IS reality? In esoteric astrology this is also the coming together of the planet of the mother (Neptune – ruler of Cancer) and the planet of the father (Saturn – ruler of Capricorn). With such a union, what can we create? This conjunction offers the opportunity to integrate dreams and wisdom, illusion and discipline, caring and purpose in whole new ways.
