“Not all who wander are lost.” J. R. Tolkien
We apologize for the delay of this newsletter but we have a very good excuse! 😊
We are happy to report that the Wisdom for a World in Transition conference was a success. While we had glitches along the way, the material presented and the presenters themselves were unanimously heralded as spectacular: Three days of the ancient Wisdom paired with science and the future, and filling the hall with an energy that kept folks glowing from the inside out since the utilities did not, thanks to a rare cold snap in Florida, left everyone filled up. Even more rare was the opportunity to experience the stained-glass windows of the Zodiac, on display to the public for the first time since 1973 when they were set up for the Esoteric Festival in Dallas, Texas. Not a soul who entered the room was unmoved.
Of course, we cast a birth chart for the event and three planets, including the Sun which is its personality was in the sign of Scorpio, the sign which rules astrology and which is the season we are currently in. The Rising sign for the Festival – the sign which is the first indicator of the Soul’s Purpose – was Sagittarius and that is the season we will be in in a few days. Sagittarius rules our highest aspirations and traveling the spiritual path, seeking direction and focus. The symbol of drawing back the bow and aiming the arrow is about establishing your goals and then sticking to the fulfillment of them, especially on a spiritual level. As Alice Bailey said in the Labours of Hercules, “The flame that gleams beyond the mind reveals direction sure.”
This was a perfect symbol for a conference whose seed was first planted 5 years ago, whose “bow” wavered a bit in the first pulling back, but which then steadied and fired true. The Soul’s Purpose of becoming whole through higher education and through the conflict of life, through exposure to the refinement of art and even poetry from one of the speakers, was all brought to fruition. Our Highest Aspiration in bringing together both the past and the future was also attained. By honoring the teachings and the lifework of Dr. Douglas Baker, we were able to set the foundation for moving forward into an Aquarian future envisioned by and inspired by him. Stay tuned for much more to come.
