“The grim march of world political events points inexorably to the Truth; without spiritual vision, the people perish.” Paramahansa Yogananda
This month the final planet in the sign of Pisces, Saturn slides into Aries, adding to the idea that we are truly launching a new cycle, a new Age. Approximately every 36 years Saturn, a faster moving planet catches up to Neptune, one of our slowest moving planets so that they align in the same sign for a time. While traditional astrologers say that most of the conjunction is next year when it will be more exact, from the esoteric point of view, we’re already feeling it, the New Age, the New Cycle. In fact, an exact meeting will occur a couple of times this year as these two planets dance forward and back, even back into Pisces for a brief promenade down Memory Lane, before they finally pair off in Aries where they will stay well into 2026.
The last Saturn-Neptune conjunction was the Capricorn alignment of 1989, a major turning point in history: the Berlin Wall came down, the first internet servers went up and a proposal for something called the World Wide Web was created! The Revolutions of 1989 ended communism in the Eastern Bloc of Europe and the huge event called Tiananmen Square was protested world-wide. F. W. de Klerk was elected as State President of South Africa and his regime gradually dismantled the apartheid system over the next five years, etc. 1989 was a big year. Have we mentioned that 2025 is a big year? It is a year of protests, revolution and change. This timing at the beginning of a new Age is important. What will we, those who came here now to be a part of this change, make of it?
