The vernal equinox, or first day of Spring is a much-appreciated day by most cultures world-wide, no matter which side of the equator you live on. That day for the Northern Hemisphere is March 20th this year. This marks the day that the Sun shifts from the introspective hibernation of Pisces into the birth of Aries, the beginning of a new zodiacal cycle. The Sun has completed its march through every sign of the zodiac; we have had the opportunity to reap the lessons of every sign and now it’s time to start the cycle all over again, hopefully on a higher level. After the year we have been through, this would be a perfect time to birth ourselves into higher levels of tolerance and understanding, expansion and unity, to make a new cycle’s resolution of doing things better, so that this time next year, we can look back upon 2021 and confidently affirm the quote above.
The Spring and Fall equinoxes are the two times every year when the sun is shining straight down on the equator, making night and day of equal duration in both the northern and southern hemispheres. What a perfect time to ponder upon the meaning of equality. Are we all equals? Of course not! No more than Aries is equal to Pisces; we are all in fact, very different. That IS the meaning behind the age of Aquarius, the age for the people. As opposed to thinking of people as the masses, which Cancer rules, we now think of people as individuals within the group of humanity. THAT is how we are equal; honoring one another’s different appearances, cultures, beliefs and personal expressions of who we are. We are all different and we are all equally treading a path, back to our Source.
